Brevard County is probably most well-known for the town of Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral. Cocoa Beach is not the best surf destination in Florida as the Cape can block some of the swell coming from the north, but at the same time the wind can be blocked as well. Advertised as the Surf City of the east coast, Cocoa Beach might be somewhat of a let-down. That being said, there are plenty of places to stay and eat in Cocoa Beach as well as night life, surf shops, etc. Winter time, bring a full suit, but the rest of the year trunks should be alright. Bring a longboard, shortboard, fish, or whatever you feel comfortable riding here.
The Cocoa Beach Pier can be have a fun wave and the streets to the south can be fun as well. South of town is Patrick’s Air Force base which has some fun waves as does Satellite Beach through Melbourne Beach. The waves are easy to find, just drive up and down A1A and you’ll find most of them.
