St. John’s County has a plethora of surf spots, the most well-known of which are located in St. Augustine. Visiting surfers may want to bring their trunks, wetsuit top, sunscreen, fullsuit in winter, and any board other than a big wave board(though you never know). Of course, there are sharks.
St. Augustine is well-known as being the first European established town in America. It also has some decent surf spots. These include the breaks in Anastasia State Park which are Blowhole, Middles,, and Lighthouse. South of these spots are F.A.’s, St. Augustine Pier, and A-Street. Crescent Beach has Matanzas which can get good.
North of St. Augustine are the towns of Vilano Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach. Ponte Vedra Beach has little beach access, one exception is for the break Crossroads. Vilano Beach spots include Walkovers, V-Land, and Beacons.
