Volusia County is perhaps best known for Daytona Beach, home of the Daytona 500 and spring break. Surfers also know it to be one of the Sharkiest places on Earth.
There are plenty of surf spots in Volusia County, as well as plenty of places to eat, drink, sleep, buy surf equipment, etc. Visiting surfers may want to bring their trunks, wetsuit top, sunscreen, fullsuit in winter, and any board other than a big wave board(though you never know).
The most consistent break in Florida which is also producing some talented pros is The New Smyrna Inlet. Both the south side and the north side(Ponce Inlet) get very good waves. This is a very sharky spot. Other spots in Volusia County include Main Street Pier and Sunglow Pier in Daytona Beach, the Ormond Beach Pier, and Bethune Beach.
