Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County has some of the few reefs in Florida, pretty blue water, warm water, and plenty of amenities. Places to stay are easy to find and so are restaurants, surf stores, etc.. A wetsuit maybe nice in the winter to protect against the chilly air, but trunks and maybe a wetsuit top are fine during the rest of the year. Fish/hybrids, longboards, shortboards are fine, but if a good swell does come in then a step-up may be nice to have.

View of Delray Beach from Highland Beach

One of the first waves in Palm Beach County is the Boca Raton Inlet. The Inlet offers some shelter from the wind and sometimes can throw up some good lefts. Inlets in Florida are sharky. The Palmetto Pavillion offers some snappy little waves, but careful when its shallow. Spanish River has a reef and beach break which can get good.

Delray Beach has some good waves, primarily beach break. Boynton has a lot of beach break, but also an inlet. The Lake Worth Pier is a good spot to surf that picks up some swell and make sense of it. There is a local contingent there, so be nice. There are some hidden nooks and crannies that break in Palm Beach, but the main focus is Reef Road which used to offer up some outside waves, but now is more of a shore break barrel on the right swell. Juno Pier gets good on the north and south side and Jupiter Inlet can have some good waves, but gets crowded.
